Welcome to the Fall 2014 Session!

Greetings Parents and Students! Consider this your congratulations for getting started in your GaVS AP Environmental Science AB Course. This course covers a whole year's worth of information so we will move quickly! Be sure to contact me as needed to make sure you are aware of important events and to get help as needed! Please review the important information below.

Submitting Assignments

There are three ways to submit assignments in this course. Be sure to check out the videos below for additional information on submitting quizzes, discussions, and dropbox assignments. Also, please note that I cannot assess assignments submitted via email. All assignments must be submitted in the course.

Check out these Cool Tools for creative ways to submit assignments!

Late Work Policy

Student work is due bi-weekly on Fridays before midnight EST. Work turned in after the deadline on the course schedule will be accepted within 1 week with a late penalty assessed. Late penalty begins on Saturday and is deducted at a rate of 10% of the assignment value per school day. Work submitted on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday is considered 1 day late. After 5 school days, a grade of 0 will be assessed. Be sure to follow the course calendar to make sure you turn in the appropriate daily assignments.

Lab Materials

As required by the College Board, students must devote 25% of their course time to the lab experience to learn the process and methodology of science and important foundations of environmental studies. Therefore, students will need to purchase some items at their local grocery store to complete labs for this course. Please look over the provided list of course materials now to get an idea of what you will need later in the course.
