Effectively Educating

Technology and Tools to Support Educator Effectiveness

Professional Development Personalized By You

Educating students isn't best approached with a "one-size fits all" methodology. So why is professional development so often approached in this way? Educating educators needs to integrate the "voice and choice" of the learner to make the learning relevant and meaningful.

The main principles of Educator Effectiveness will provide the structure for this professional development opportunity, allowing your needs and interests to guide your learning. You will be supported through the collaboration with your peers and the guidance of "experts from the field." Through your learning, you will acquire new skills and tools to improve your effectiveness as an educator while creating artifacts that demonstrate your utilization and mastery of the principles of Educator Effectiveness.

A Blend of Learning Opportunities

This professional development opportunity will blend together online, virtual and face-to-face learning. To promote a collaborative learning environment, your participation in online and virtual discussions will be expected. Your participation in the face-to-face sessions is optional and should be considered to best fit your learning.

Learning Timeline

Each month a different aspect of Educator Effectiveness will be our focus. You will be expected to find a tool that supports the month's principle of Educator Effectiveness and post your plans to the group through a Google+ Community - Pick and Post. You will incorporate this tool into your teaching and then share your findings with the group during a Google+ Hangout - Virtual Collaboration. An optional face-to-face session will be offered at CESA 10 each month to share tools and provide skill training that supports the month's principle of Educator Effectiveness.
