Puma Sweatshops
What is a sweatshop?
A sweatshop is a factory or workshop especially in the clothing industry where manual workers are employed at low wages and poor working conditions.
Have you owned or currently own any Puma clothes?
Puma has a sweatshop called "Ocean Sky" in El Salvador, they mainly make fĂștball/soccer shirts.
The conditions of the sweatshops are very poor, 37 degree temperatures, no benefits, and they get paid very little for a days worth of work.
The company responded to the accusations by admitting that they used/have sweatshops. They still continue to use the sweatshops.
The industrial revolution affected working conditions of today in many different ways, it improved the overall safety and terrible working conditions that people experienced beforehand.
I am not more concerned about where the products I buy come from because I already had good idea of where they came from so it's no shock.
