Book Character Dress Up Day!

This MONDAY, OCTOBER 30th, students can dress up as their favorite book character.

  • Bring the book with you that features your character (if you have it).
  • Make sure your costume is safe and not a distraction (ex. no head gear, masks)

Veteran's Day

This year's Veteran's Day Program is set for Thursday, November 9. The students are encouraged to wear RED, WHITE and BLUE or patriotic clothing.

We will be honoring our military families with a slideshow this year. Please send photos of any active military or veteran family members (alive or deceased) from our PRE community to Robin Stephens ( by November 1 to be included in this special honorary tribute.

Don't know what to do with all that leftover Halloween candy? We are holding our annual candy collection for the USO November 1 - November 9. The USO distributes candy to military service persons and their families during the holiday season. There will be boxes available in the school lobby for you to drop off your donations. Also, you are welcome to encourage your children to write letters/make cards or draw pictures to be given to the troops along with the candy donation. Thank you for your support!

Food for Friends

Food for Friends is a wonderful program that collects food donations and sends them home in backpacks to some of our very own Penny Road students to help feed their families over the weekend. We are currently in desperate need of families to donate food once a month to fill a backpack. We WILL send out a reminder each week to remind volunteers to bring in their food. Please contact Jenn Evenhouse at or Hannah Baublitz at if you are interested. Thank you!
