THIS WEEK IN PICTURES...

Author Skype

This week we Skyped with Nancy Kelly Allen! Nancy has written around 40 children's books. Since we are studying folktales, Nancy shared her Cherokee folktale with us! She also shared some writing tips and allowed us to ask questions! It was an awesome experience!

Friction Ice Skating

This week we discussed friction and how it relates to force and motion. To begin the experiment, I asked students which material would create the least amount of friction; aluminum foil, wax paper, or lamination. After we took a vote and planned out our experiment, students were sent off to "skate!" We found out, lamination creates the least amount of friction, which allowed us to "skate" easier.
