Puma Parent/Guardian Support Series this coming Monday night!

You’re welcome to join support staff in a conversation about Hmong Community and Mental Health this Monday, November 22 from 6:00 – 7:00pm.

There will be a presentation by Parkway’s school-based therapist, True Thao, and time for conversation amongst families and staff after.

Homework Help at the Public Library

Homework Centers are comfortable spaces at the library where students of all ages can drop in and work on their homework independently or with the help of volunteer tutors.

The centers are equipped with computers, printers, reference books, and school supplies for student use.

Black Men with Stethescopes

The Black Men with Stethoscopes (BMWS) Youth Summit will expose Black men ages 12-18 to careers in medicine through hands-on activities and interaction with Black/BIPOC professionals. Activities will include:

  • Panel and Q&A with Black medical professionals

  • Real-life medical simulations

  • Interactive tour of Hennepin Healthcare downtown campus

  • Scavenger hunt: Exhibit hall of medical equipment

  • Educational pathways information for careers in medicine

  • Reflection and goal setting exercises

Free Gift Making Workshops w/The Keystone Teen Tech Center

Looking to give a gift this holiday season? Or perhaps you want to create a present for yourself in the spirit of self-love? Register for the tech center's last three workshops of 2021 and get the opportunity to make FREE gifts. On top of the price (FREE), you'll learn new tech skills like designing in Canva, laser engraving, and using a vinyl cutter.
Every workshop is on a Wednesday from 4:00pm-6:00pm and for teens ages 13-19.

Is your student interested in making a video? Acting in a play? Or maybe just finding a cool place to do stuff with their friends? Sprockets is a network of many different after-school and summer programs for youth in Saint Paul. It is a collaboration of community organizations, the City of Saint Paul, and Saint Paul Public Schools. To look for an activity that might be right for your student, click on this link for their Program Finder. It is being updated weekly with a variety of online and in-person (socially distanced) activities and other fun things for teens and youth to do in Saint Paul.

Free Food Bags on Fridays!

If you’ve signed up for the free and confidential food program on Friday, please remind your student to check their locker at the end of the day on Fridays and before breaks from school. The bag of food is placed in their backpack or in a bag in their locker. If you’d like to sign up, fill out this form. Choose from 5 different bag types. True Thao can work with uninsured or UCare, Medica, HealthPartners, Medical Assistance, Medicare insurance (he’s not in network with Blue Cross Blue Shield MN).
