3G 2014
Class Newsletter
WELCOME
Dear Parents and Caregivers,
May I take this opportunity to welcome you all to 3G. The students have settled, and we are looking forward to an exciting and productive year.
All students in 3G will be supported, challenged and extended at an appropriate level. Your child will be engaged in learning activities throughout the year that are designed to suit his or her learning style and ability. Students will be encouraged and supported in a warm environment to take risks in pursuit of their learning. I hope to make 2014 an enjoyable year for all students so that they can achieve their personal best.
Kind regards,
Eleni Antoniou

ORGANISATION
Please encourage your child to be prepared for school each day and to be responsible for packing their school bag with everything they need.
Library
Please check the timetable for your child’s class library time and ensure that he/she has packed their library bag.
Scripture
Scripture lessons take place each Wednesday. Lessons for 3-6 are from 12:30-1:00pm. Please send a note to the school office if you wish your child to change classes.
Attendance
A phone call to the office or written notification (note/email) to your child’s teacher should be provided if your child is absent from school for any reason. The office has partial-absence forms that must be obtained if a student is late or needs to leave early.
Notes
Please deposit all notes that have money enclosed into the silver boxes at the office. All other permission notes are to be handed into the classroom teacher (unless specified otherwise).
SCHOOL REWARD SYSTEM
Castle Cards, Merit Certificates and A-Day Awards are given out throughout the year. Once your child receives 10 Castle Cards, please ask him/her to hand them into your class teacher in a named envelope for a Merit Certificate that will be handed out in class. 10 Merits earns a Bronze Award, another 10 a Silver Award and a following 10 earns a Gold Award. The cycle begins again with Bronze, Silver and Gold Award II. This award system continues throughout their school life at CCPS, so children should retain all awards.
COMMUNICATION
I look forward to working in partnership with you to ensure your child has a positive and enjoyable year in 2014. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions, an issue you would like to raise or to make an appointment to see me.
My availability for appointments is outlined below:
Monday- afternoon
Tuesday- morning and afternoon
Wednesday- morning

Friday- morning or afternoon
Outside of these times, I attend Professional Development and meetings. As these occur immediately before and after school, I will often arrive at the classroom at bell time and will need to leave promptly after school. Unfortunately, unless there is an urgent issue, I will not be able to engage in lengthy discussions outside of my available times.
