THIS WEEK’S TOP STORIES
What Parents Need to Know about Tweens
The tween years — from about 10 to 13 — can be tough on kids (not to mention parents!). As they approach adolescence, children begin asserting their independence and practicing the eye-rolls they’ll perfect as teenagers. But as social relationships become more important and more complex — Why didn’t she invite me? Is he watching? Do I look okay? — tweens also tend to be more self-conscious, sensitive, and insecure. So while they may suddenly seem to find parents clueless and embarrassing, they still need your support.
The ChildMind Institute provides some valuable resources for parents. Check out the following article:

For only $25.00, your kid will have a book that will be enjoyed now and 20, 30, or even 50 years from now. You also can make the yearbook extra special by purchasing custom name stamping on the cover for $5.00.
Yearbook order forms were sent home with hybrid students. But, you can buy online with a credit or debit card at ybpay.lifetouch.com and using the Yearbook Code 8627921. You can also pay using MySchoolBucks (search for LMS Yearbook). Order now, so your student won’t miss out when the yearbooks are distributed at the end of the year! The final day to order has been extended and is now April 16, 2021.
Limited extra copies will be ordered and will be sold on a first-come, first serve basis!
If your child did not have a school portrait they were emailed a Google Form that they can use to upload a photo. Please keep the following information in mind when taking your picture.
Take the picture from the elbows up
Face the camera (not turned off to one side)
Do not add any filters to the photo (it lowers the quality and won't print)
Please do not wear a mask, hood, or anything that obscures your face
Take your picture against a plain background or one that is free from distractions
Please do not submit "selfies" these are often too close up and will not fit in the image space available
If they took a school picture last year and would like me to reuse that for this year's book please let me know!
Please let me know if you have any questions!
