About the Program

The Indonesia Summer Immersion Internship is a 6- or 8-week internship placement in Yogyakarta, known as Jogja, at a community development NGO. Interns are paired with local students to help build bridges to NGO partners and enhance cross-cultural learning. At the end of the summer, each team makes a presentation to local community groups.

Enlight Scholarship

Through a generous grant from the Enlight Foundation, VIA is able to provide need/merit-based scholarships for 2018 Indonesia Summer Immersion Internship participants (learn more about the Enlight Scholarship). To be considered for the scholarship, candidates must submit their application to the internship program by December 1st. The scholarship application is embedded within the internship application. Students must also be recommended to the program by a professor. Professors can complete the recommendation form before or after the student starts their application.
