Red Ribbon Week!

Red Ribbon Week is traditionally celebrated the last week or so of October. The goal is to help students consider their responsibility in making healthy choices, as well as to open the dialogue between parents and students, and students and teachers (in a developmentally appropriate way) about the negative impact drugs can have on achieving your dreams. This year, we'll be celebrating Red Ribbon Week by:

  • all students helped to make a "healthy choices" or "say no to drugs" themed banner - come check them out in the MPR - they are fabulous! Big thanks to our volunteer Art Docents for coordinating these banners and to Ms. Ricci for coordinating our banner contents!
  • inviting our first responders to our annual Carnoween on Fri., 10/26
  • hosting a dress up spirit week (see below)

Click here to link to an older Colt Connection - there is a section of parent resources with ideas on how to talk to your child about drugs in a developmentally appropriate way.

Red Ribbon Dress Up Week!

  • Monday, 10/29: "Sock it to Drugs" (crazy socks)
  • Tuesday, 10/30: "Too Bright for Drugs" (neon/sunglasses)
  • Wednesday, 10/31: "Say Boo to Drugs" (Halloween costumes or spirited items)
  1. Children MUST be able to use the restroom independently if they come in costume
  2. No weapons, no masks, nothing that might be scary for younger kiddos (remember we have a TK on site!)
  3. Consider sending your child in spirited items and saving the costume for the evening!
  • Thursday, 11/1: "Give Drugs the Boot" (country western day)
  • Friday, 11/2: "Put a Stop to Drugs" (wear red)
