Make a Moss and Lichen Garden
First you need a container for your garden. I suggest a wide and relatively shallow container like a pie plate. It will need space to put down a layer or small gravel or sand in addition to your moss, lichen, and possibly other things like rocks or bark. You can get this dirt layer now, or after you gather you mosses.
Go on a hunt for your moss and lichens. Gather these gently by digging under them and lifting. Look for interesting shapes, colors, and textures.
Now put it all together! Layer in some sand, gravel, or just any soil around. Put larger pieces of moss in first and then work your way down to the smaller accents. Think about what these things would look like if you were made tiny and walking among them. Decide if you want to find some not-so-natural animal or person figurines to your scene.
