Principal's Weekly Message

November 13th, 2015

Thank you!

Our Veteran's Day celebration and recognition was well done. Thank you to the many people who came together to participate, lead our students, provide breakfast, and make this a successful event. We moved the event inside and broadcast it from the library to the classrooms, which proved to be very successful. And, of course, thank you to all of the Veterans who participated. We appreciate you.

Papa John's Pizza Night was a success!

Our next Papa John's night is Thursday, November 19th. If you buy pizza any time of the day from our local Papa John's on November 19th, they will make a donation to our field trip fund.

Habit of the Week: Habit 5 – Seek First to Understand, Then to Be Understood

Quote of the Week: “One of the most sincere forms of respect is actually listening to what another has to say.” –Bryant H. McGill

Home Connection: Seek first to understand, then to be understood is a difficult habit to grow. However, it can be done through practice, a caring attitude, and an open ear. Often our first thought is to make sure everyone knows what we have to say, but it is important for us to LISTEN to what others have to say. Active listening shows you care, know what you are talking about, and will help you be effective in your relationships or teams. Next time you get into a conversation with your kiddos – Seek first to understand, then to be understood!

Lunch and Learn Cancellation

PTA's Lunch and Learn for November 20th has been postponed and will be rescheduled. We'll keep you posted about the date when it is finalized.
