School Information
"Hold" Emergency Drill
Each month we practice one of our emergency drills. This week we will be practicing Hold, which is a new protocol this year. The Hold protocol would be used when we need to keep everyone out of the hallways. One example would be if paramedics are assisting someone in the hallway, and we need to keep our hallways clear. The directions for all of our protocols are included below. As you talk to your students about these drills, please reassure them that we practice so we know what to do in an emergency and don't need to be afraid.
December Attendance Brag Tag
Currently we have an average of 95.4% of our students at school each day. This number is the 2nd highest in the district for elementary schools! Last year we ended the year at number 19 in the district with an average daily attendance of 94.7%. Thank you for helping make sure your students are at school every day unless they are sick. Our students are enjoying earning their attendance brag tags each month!
Holiday Dress Up
Starting Thursday, December 14, students are invited to join us in a fun holiday dress up countdown. Please see the countdown calendar below.

December DSD Mental Health Series for Parents
As we approach the holiday season and the end of the calendar year, we wanted to bring to your attention a crucial and timely topic that directly concerns the well-being of our children – “Talking with Your Child about Pornography”.
In today's digital age, the prevalence of explicit content is a reality that cannot be ignored. Shockingly, studies show that at least 90% of children will be exposed to pornography at some point, and an alarming 10% admit to daily viewing. Equally concerning is that the average age of first exposure is just 11 years old.
To address this pressing issue, Davis School District is offering a parent series session on December 13th from 6:30-7:30 via Zoom. Key topics that will be covered during the session include:
- Seek Understanding
- Getting comfortable with the Uncomfortable
- What NOT to say or Do
We understand that discussing pornography with your child may be a difficult and uncomfortable task, but it is an essential conversation to have. We encourage you to attend this informative session and join us in taking a proactive stance in safeguarding our children's well-being.

PTA Information
We are looking for parents who are willing to serve on our PTA Board next year. It is a rewarding experience that makes a huge difference to our students. Many hands make light work, which is especially true with PTA. Please call the office if you would be willing to serve next year. Thank you!
