Wonders

In Wonders this week, we worked on "Compare and Contrast". We made a Venn Diagram comparing which Star Wars characters were in The Force Awakens and Return of the Jedi. We had a blast! On Monday, we will be having our weekly spelling test and Wonders test.

Envisions Math

We are continuing to work on fractions. We should have our assessment late next week, or early the following the week. We took our time and spent a couple of days on some of our lessons to make sure everyone understood. We are working on Lesson 9-5 right now if you'd like to take a look at it in the practice packet that was sent home.

Please have your child practice their multiplication facts daily, even if its just for 5 minutes. Thank you for your support!

New multiplication challenge...

I went through the entire stack of multiplication facts and the kids timed me. I got it done (and added a little time!) in 2 minutes and 30 seconds. If any student can go through the stack of flashcards and beat or tie this time, I told them I would pick them up and take them out to dinner anywhere they wanted to go in Eagle River (with parent permission of course!). Good luck 3rd graders!

Mystery Science

This week, we did our first "Exploration" and "Activity" in Mystery Science. We watched 1-3 minute videos that were then followed by discussion questions. We learned about bees, pollination, stigmas, pollen dusters, nectar, and so much more! We then got to explore some real flowers and find all of these parts. We will do our 2nd Exploration and Activity next week. Thank you to everyone who helped out and sent in supplies, I greatly appreciate it! Check out the pictures on our class Facebook page.

On the evening of April 18th, a Panel Discussion of local law enforcement, mental health, and an administrator from the School District of Menomonie will discuss AODA, Alcohol and Drug Awareness programs, resources and options available. They will discuss the pros and cons of student random drug testing and what other options are available.
