Twain Celebrates Red Ribbon Week This Week!

In H.E.A.R.T. class your child receives many lessons, one of which is safety with medicines and drugs. This year your child’s H.E.A.R.T. teacher will continue this very important topic during Red Ribbon Week. Learning how to get away from a dangerous situation, standing up to peer pressure, knowing the effects of drugs on the human body, and taking medicines properly/only when given by a trusted adult are just a few of the many topics taught in HEART class (all at the grade level of your child).

Stay Safe and Healthy!

Halloween Plans

  • Parade: A short Halloween Parade will take place beginning at 10:00AM on Friday, October 29th. Weather permitting, we will parade out the main doors and parade around the building. Families are welcome to come and watch our costume parade outdoors and take pictures. PLEASE NOTE: In the event of inclement weather, our parade will be canceled.

  • Classroom Activities: Classrooms/grade levels will be planning for Halloween activities either before or after the parade. Teachers should have reached out to families with classroom-specific plans. Contact your child's teacher with questions.

  • Costumes: Students may come to school in costume on Friday, October 29. (We don't have enough staff/ space for students to change at school.)They can stay in costume for the duration of the day. Costumes need to be school appropriate and cannot depict violence or blood/gore. No fake weapons are allowed in school (i.e. toy guns, swords, blades, etc). Costume masks can be worn for the parade (as long as students can safely see), but they may not be worn throughout the day. For costumes that have short skirts/shorts, leggings or pants need to be worn underneath.

No SACC on Tuesday, November 2nd: School Cancelled

There will be no S.A.C.C. on Tuesday, November 2 due to Election Day. School will be closed on this day.

Picture Retakes

All students who ordered school pictures should have received them at school on Thursday or Friday. Picture Retakes will be on Monday, November 8th. Notes went home last week and can be found here, too.

4th Grade Bullying Presentation

Last Wednesday, Retired Fraser Police Officer and FPS District Mentor Lisa Pettyes came to talk to both fourth-grade classes about bullying. She reviewed what bullying IS, what it is NOT, how it impacts people, and what to do when it occurs. She also brought three Fraser High School students to help her present and share about bullying and to offer some of their real-life experiences witnessing these behaviors and coping with it. Our Comets were engaged and learned a lot!

Our fifth graders will be getting the same presentation from Mrs. Pettyes this coming Thursday, too!
