The 7th and 8th grade students will be combined to perform Slavonic Legend, Medieval Wars, and Ridin' the Rails. They will also combine with the High School Orchestras as the finale of the concert to perform Coldplay's Viva La Vida. This will be a great event.

Our students received a total of 19 Superior Solo ratings, 4 Excellent Solo ratings, 57 Superior Ensemble ratings, and 21 Excellent Ensemble ratings from the adjudicators. State Testing

Students will begin taking state-issued standardized tests beginning April 18. The AIR Tests measure student progress toward Ohio's Learning Standards in the areas of English Language Arts, Mathematics and Science (8th grade only). State tests are critical for measuring student learning and ensuring that all of our students receive a high-quality education. The results from state tests are a measure we use for shared accountability for our district, schools, and teachers to ensure we are providing the best education possible for our students to be college and career ready.

A testing schedule will be sent out in the April 8 issue of Front & Center once the details are ironed out.

Student Spotlight

Stephanie Parish, an 8th grade Magic team member, is the Xtreme Team's choice for our latest Student Spotlight. Stephanie loves to perform! A member of Center's Show Choir and Select Choir, she is also active with the Olmsted Performing Arts. She was recently a Featured Dancer and Ensemble member of the OPA production of Beauty and the Beast, and also takes dance and voice lessons at OPA. Stephanie's also a swimmer, and is a member of the Strongsville Swim League, competing for Meadowmoor. Her favorite event is the backstroke. It's no surprise to hear that Stephanie's favorite class is Choir--she loves to sing, and also truly enjoys having Mrs. Foky as a teacher. Stephanie's favorite thing about CMS is that students have such a variety of classes to take--you can truly follow your passion. In the future, Stephanie plans to attend the Ohio State University, and of course--pursue a career in theatre. Maybe one day, we'll see Stephanie's name in lights on Broadway, starring in her favorite musical, Hamilton. Remember CMS when you're a star, Stephanie!
