NOR'WESTER THERAPY DOGS PROGRAM - THERAPY TEAMS NEEDED
A valued partner for thirteen years, the Nor'wester Therapy Dogs Program works directly with students in Council Rock classrooms to support learning. Registered therapy dog teams build student motivation, enhance focus, and increase task persistence. Therapy dog teams also offer emotional support and a stress-free learning environment to improve academic achievement, student self-esteem, and confidence. COUNCIL ROCK ACTS AS SITE FOR REGIONAL FORUM ON SCHOOL VIOLENCE
COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH STUDENT EARNS PRESTIGIOUS SCIENCE RECOGNITION
Congratulations to Council Rock South student Jessica Wang for being named a
Regeneron Science Talent Search (STS) Scholar. Jessica's science project titled, Development of Novel Lipid Nanoparticles to Facilitate the Delivery of β-catenin Targeting siRNA to Tumor Cells for Cancer Therapy impressed Regeneron judges and set her apart from nearly 2,000 competitors. Regeneron is the nation’s oldest and most prestigious science and math competition for high school seniors. The competition provides students a national stage to present original research and celebrates the hard work and novel discoveries of young scientists who are bringing a fresh perspective to significant global challenges. The Regeneron STS scholars were selected from 1,993 applications received from 659 high schools across 49 states. Scholars were chosen based on their exceptional research skills, commitment to academics, innovative thinking, and promise. As a Regeneron STS Scholar, Jessica earned a $2,000 award for Council Rock South.
CR SOUTH MODEL U.N. RECOGNIZED AS OUTSTANDING DELEGATION
Congratulations to Council Rock South’s Model U.N. Delegation for being recognized as an Outstanding Delegation. Additionally, Ryan Pulaski was awarded Premier Diplomat in International Criminal Court A, Mitchell Smedley was recognized as Outstanding 1st-Year Delegate for Political and Security B, and Kristina Trojak was designated alternate for Youth Conference on National Affairs (CONA). The Model UN program is a simulation of the United Nations that requires students to research a preassigned country and represent that country’s interests through debate and problem-solving. Participating students gain a global perspective while sharpening their problem-solving and public-speaking skills.
COUNCIL ROCK NORTH STUDENTS NAMED STATE CHAMPIONS FOR MICROSOFT OFFICE SKILLS
Council Rock North students, Lambert Zhang and Matthew Raffa have earned the honor of representing Council Rock North and all of Pennsylvania in Certiport’s 2020 Microsoft Office Specialist U.S. National Championship. Lambert and Matthew entered the rigorous competition when they took the Office Specialist exams as part of their Computer Applications class. Based on their scores in those exams, both were selected as the PA state champions. Lambert and Matthew now have the opportunity to attend the US competition as Pennsylvania’s representatives in Dallas, TX this June.
WRIGHTSTOWN ELEMENTARY STUDENTS WRITE AWARD-WINNING STORIES
As part of an optional writing contest, students in Ms. Marcus’ Fourth-grade class wrote 100-word stories called Spooky Sagas. Eight Wrightstown students’ stories were chosen to be featured in the Young Writers organization Spooky Sagas 2019 – Mini Sagas From Pennsylvania book. The publication will be in the Library of Congress in Washington, DC as well as Wrightstown’s School Library. Congratulations to our talented young authors listed below.

Whether you are a music lover, Council Rock alum or just looking for a fun night out, gather a table of friends for outstanding food, spirits, and dancing - with a feature performance by BONEHEAD at the FUGE on Friday, March 20 from 7 PM until midnight. The night includes a silent auction, raffles and more. PLUS this year we've added a VIP Backstage Lounge with a specialty craft bar. Proceeds go to support innovative programs that engage children, spark their imagination and develops their life-long passion for learning through the Council Rock Education Foundation. Alumni tables now forming.
