New Transportation Request Process
In an effort to ensure that transportation routes are as accurate and as efficient as possible, NWCS and Dean Transportation will be making changes to our transportation request process for the upcoming school year.
Effective for the 2022-2023 school year, parents will need request transportation needs for their students annually.
Each year, parents will need request transportation for their students. Routes from the previous school years will be removed and the transportation department will build new routes based on the transportation requests received by the deadline provided.
ANNUALLY, Parents will need to request transportation via our online form linked in the instructions below. If your student only needs transportation for AM or PM, the form must still be filled out to identify the need.
Once the form is submitted, parents will receive a confirmation email. This does not mean your student has been scheduled for a route.
Once the routes for the school year are completed in August, they will be visible in the Parent PowerSchool portal or via the NWCS mobile app, if the parent is logged in.
Notifications of routes WILL NO LONGER BE SENT VIA US MAIL.
If a request for transportation is made after the deadline stated, the student will be placed on a waitlist and be notified by the transportation department when they have been placed on a route. Once the student has been placed on a route, their stop information will be available in the Parent PowerSchool portal and in the NWCS mobile app, if the parent is logged in.
If your student will need transportation for the 2022-2023 school year, follow the below steps.
Request transportation via the NWCS online form by CLICKING HERE before July 29, 2022 for the 2022-2023 school year. The form can also be found on our website, www.nwschools.org, by clicking on Departments and then Transportation Department or on our mobile app by clicking on the Transportation icon.
Requests for transportation made after July 29, 2022 will be placed on a waitlist per the information above.
Make sure that you have a Parent PowerSchool account linked to all your students. Information on the Parent PowerSchool portal can be found by CLICKING HERE.
Once the routes are created, you will be able to view your student’s transportation information by signing into the Parent Powerschool Portal.
Routes can also be viewed by downloading and signing into the NWCS mobile app.
In the NWCS mobile app, click on parent/student sign in and follow the instructions to receive your login information. Once signed into the mobile app an icon will appear for each of your students on the mobile app where you will be able to view student specific information, including bus routes.
