Bear Bytes Weekly Update
Parent Update - August 26th Edition
A Word from Your Friendly Neighborhood Principal. . .
Parents,
What a wonderful start to the school year! We hope that the children enjoyed our fun welcome! It sure seemed like there were a lot of smiles! The children have settled right back into the school routine. For the last two days teachers have spent time developing their classroom communities and working through expectations and procedures. The time they spend with this helps to provide a strong foundation for the year.

Kiss and Go - We need your help!! We have approximately 160 students who are being picked up in the afternoon. The following will help keep things moving:
1. Post your child's name on a piece of paper on your passenger side visor so Mrs. Fink can call into the gym to have your child ready.
2. Stay in your vehicles. Our staff will assist your children as needed.
3. Be patient - we are working as quickly as possible to ensure that everyone is safe.
Another option for those picking up children:
1. If you live in a walk zone, we encourage you to walk. You could even drive a portion of the way and park along the route. The children would then meet you either across the street or at the top of the hill. (staff members escort to these locations)
2. Park over at the Aquatic Center and walk over to pick up your child.
We know that things will continue to settle as we get into routines, but until then we appreciate your help and support. If you change your dismissal plan, please make sure to communicate it to the teacher or front office.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Sincerely,
Andrew Davis - Principal

Where's My Child's Bus?
Here Comes the Bus has been replaced with Stopfinder.
The new app will continue to give parents/guardians the ability to see their student’s transportation schedule and set up GeoAlert notifications to track their student’s bus.
Stopfinder is invitation based and all parents/guardians will receive an invitation to join the service on August 19th. Should you or your office staff receive questions about Stopfinder, we have several ways to help parent/guardians.
· Refer questions to StopfinderLoudoun@lcps.org
· Information such as how to guides/videos can be found at LCPS.org/Stopfinder
· To help educate parents about the service, please share the Peachjar flyers we have: English and Spanish
