PRESS RELEASE - Norfolk Public Schools Partners with Town of Norfolk to Host Wreaths Across America Mobile Education Exhibit
NORFOLK -- Superintendent Dr. Ingrid Allardi and Town Administrator Justin Casanova-Davis are pleased to announce that Norfolk's Freeman-Kennedy School will host the Wreaths Across America Mobile Education Exhibit later this month. Please click for full press release.
Wreaths Across America Tour is stopping at the Freeman Kennedy!
Wreaths Across America is proud to announce a local stop for the WAA Mobile Education Exhibit (MEE) national tour at Freeman-Kennedy School on Wednesday, November 30th for a scheduled event. The exhibit serves as a mobile museum, educating visitors about the service and sacrifice of our nation’s heroes as well as to serve as an official ‘welcome home’ station for our nation’s Vietnam Veterans.

You can sponsor a veteran’s wreath anytime for $15. Please click on the link Sponsor a Wreath Link. Each sponsorship goes toward a live, balsam wreath that will be placed on the headstone of an American hero as an endeavor to honor all veterans at noon on Saturday, December 17, 2022, as part of National Wreaths Across America Day.
THE FINAL DAY TO PLACE A SPONSORSHIP IS: Monday, November 28, 2022.
• Wreaths Across America is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded to continue and expand the annual wreath-laying ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery begun by Maine businessman Morrill Worcester in 1992. The organization’s mission – Remember, Honor, Teach – is carried out in part each year by coordinating wreath-laying ceremonies in December at Arlington, as well as at thousands of veterans’ cemeteries and other locations in all 50 states and beyond.

At-Home COVID Tests available for optional return testing following holiday breaks
The Executive Office of Health and Human Services (EOHHS) and the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) have provided Norfolk Schools with a supply of at-home COVID-19 test kits to be used for optional return testing following Thanksgiving and holiday break in January. Two test kits will be provided, one for each time period. If you would like test kits sent home with your child for distribution prior to the Thanksgiving break, please complete the At- HomeTest Kit Distribution form by Monday, November 21st.

• PTO Co-Chair Opening
We are in search of a Co-Chair to join the PTO's Executive Board! In this position you will work with the current co-chair to supervise, direct and coordinate the work of the PTO. You will work directly with principals and teacher representatives at both schools to maintain a supportive relationship between the schools and the PTO. This is a two-year term. • Parent Professional Advocacy League
In the last Wellness Newsletter, it was shared that the Parent Professional Advocacy League would be expanding to the Canton Department of Mental Health area which includes Norfolk, Plainville and Wrentham. They have announced a virtual support group for parents of grades K-8 children with mental health needs, and will soon be providing a group for parents of grades 9 -12 and one for grandparents raising grandchildren. • Norfolk Schools Wellness Advisory
Looking for 1-3 parents/caregivers who are willing to serve on the Norfolk Schools Wellness Advisory. Parent representation is important to this committee that will meet on average 4 times per year. If interested, please contact, dpearl@norfolk.k12.ma.us.
A Productive Professional Development Day!
Full day of learning for our staff and administrators during our Professional Development day.
We had numerous workshops on topics such as executive processing, universally designed lessons .
Some of our departments had opportunities to partner with their counterparts from Wrentham and share their learning.
