ePirate October Newsletter
October 2020
Dear ePirate Students and Families,
We have begun to hit a groove with the ePirate program! We appreciate your patience and grace as we began the 2020 school year. Our teachers are thrilled with the progress your child(ren) are making and the stories they are sharing with us! It is so much fun to watch students laugh, build community and get excited about learning!! Kudos to you all as you are an integral part of virtual learning. We kid when we say 'You can now add teacher to your resume' but just a little! THANK YOU for your partnership with the ePirate teachers, together we are learning, laughing and thriving!
We are continuously reviewing how we make the ePirate program stronger and more comprehensive. Please send your feedback to mcummins@bsd124.org OR twinkelmann@bsd124.org. Thank you, the ePirate administrators.

Reminder: Meal Services for ePirates
We are happy to share the news that the USDA has extended the Summer Feeding Program for all children up to 18 years of age. This means all students in the Belton School District can receive meals at no cost. At this time, the extension goes through December 18, 2020 - our last day before Winter break. These changes went into effect on Tuesday, September 8, 2020.
How this will impact your child:
ePirates (learning from home) can order their meals the night before and pick up between 9 - 10 am at Yeokum Center of Innovation, 613 Mill Street. Orders need to be placed by 7 pm the night before by simply filling out this form. The menu for ePirates can be found on our website. Students will receive meals at no cost.
In-person (learning at school) can receive meals at no cost. Menus have been updated for our in-person learners. Those can be found on our website and/or our app.
We still encourage families to complete the meal benefits form if you have not yet done so. The form, while primarily designed to give families meal support, also provides Belton students with other educational opportunities that might not otherwise be available. If you are unable to fill out this form electronically or need a paper copy of the meal benefits form, please contact your child’s school office to have one sent to you.
