Principal Message
Ray Community,
There has been so much joy shared at Reagan this week. We have had many activities and visitors on campus. We had an amazing visit from a Travis County Sheriff officer for our early childhood learners, we participated in school bus safety week by completing bus evacuations, Adventure Dash came to campus to hype students up for our fundraiser and Run Club started yesterday. It has been a week full of fun and learning.
I wanted to clarify some questions that may be circulating in the community around Adventure Dash. Students do not have to raise funds to participate. All students get to run and earn wrist bands for different activities. The first wrist band can be earned just by signing up (no fundraising has to occur). While the fundraiser is key in providing funds for our campus garden, activities such as the gaga ball pit, my personal push for a book vending machine and fixing and extending our shade structures; we know asking for money can be hard.
I also wanted to share why our PTA moved to Adventure Dash. Adventure Dash does not ask the community to pay per lap, you may make a flat donation. Paying per lap has been a concern within our community in years past. PTA wanted to make sure all students had opportunities to not only run but earn experiences. In the past with our other fundraiser only students who earned a certain dollar amount per lap earned prizes. There are no prizes with Adventure Dash, just experiences. Every $30 earned is a new experience [Paint the Coach, Food Fight (they throw food on the coaches, not each other), Snowball fight, Slime Band (again, on Mrs. Pennington or the coaches not on each other)]. As it is with any fundraiser, student participation is not mandatory in order for the whole school to benefit. If your child does not raise money they still can run, complete the obstacle course and participate in whole class rewards. We are so thankful that we have such a supportive community willing to help provide so many opportunities for our teachers and students. I cannot thank you enough for supporting our school.
We hope you all have a wonderful weekend,
Alison Pennington

Watch DOGS
We are looking for amazing dads who would like to volunteer with Watch DOGS (Dads of Great Students). Watch DOGS strengthen the relationship between Reagan and our community. The program provides an opportunity for dads to engage in the lives of our students and it increases the presence of positive male role models. Watch Dogs typically volunteer for a full or half day on campus. They spend their time reading with students, helping with lunches, participating in specials, and walking the halls to make sure the building is secure. If you would like to participate, please sign up here.
Bathroom Concerns
Dear Families,
We believe that our school is not just a place of learning but also a second home for our students. However, in recent weeks, we've encountered a challenge that threatens the incredible culture of our shared space. We have experienced incidents of vandalism in our bathrooms, which are disheartening and disappointing for all of us. We want to emphasize the importance of respecting and maintaining the school environment, as it's a collective responsibility. We kindly request that parents have a conversation with their students about the value of our school and the significance of treating it with care and respect. Together, we can instill the values of responsibility and community in our young learners, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for everyone. Thank you for your continued support in addressing this issue and fostering a culture of respect within our school.
Adventure Dash October 27, 2023
Reagan is excited to welcome all families for our Adventure Dash Fun Run on October 27, 2023
RSVP's help us organize for large campus events during the school day and help check in lots of people quickly and safely. Leander ISD Safety Guidelines require Raptor Safe Check in for all visitors.
Please RSVP for each family member attending. All visitors must bring their license to check in. If their license is already scanned into the system, then we will pre-print their visitor badge and they can move through the Fast Pass Lane. Family members are welcome to come to the front office during business hours, starting October 23, 2023 to scan in their licenses to help expedite the check-in process.
Please note that we will not be able to video other students at this event. We are requiring spectators to stand on the driveway instead of the field as students will be running and we do not want to interfere with the fun run. We also would like you to know that if it rains we will not be able to hold spectators as our Fun Run will move into our gym.
If you do not have your license pre-scanned into the system you will have to wait in the line to have your license scanned into the system. PLEASE DO NOT FORGET YOUR LICENSE!
PLEASE complete 1 RSVP Per Person Visiting
If you plan on taking your child home you will need to sign them out in the front office that day.

Awards: Participants entered into a drawing for Scholastic book $$ certificate for book fair in November.
Students can work independently or together with a friend/sibling to create a storybook pumpkin that represents a character from a story. Characters should be age/school appropriate. Pumpkins may be real or fake and smaller than a basketball.
Real pumpkins may not be cut or have holes in them exposing their insides. This accelerates the degradation process and the library is already swampy enough to encourage that. No food/candy can be used on the pumpkin.
We recommend traditional craft supplies, acrylic paint, hot glue to attach items to the surface. Pumpkin must have a completed entry form submitted with it.
Hearing and Vision Screening NOV 1 and NOV 29
Coming up on Wednesday, November 1, Reagan will be having our mass annual hearing and vision screening for PreK, Kindergarten, 1st, and 3rd. 5th grade will take place on Wednesday, November 29. Please make sure to send your children with their glasses if they have them.
