Evidences of Evolution
4 Different Types of Evidence
Fossil layers
What it is- Fossils that formed in sedimentary rock.
How it supports evolution- This shows evidence of the different types of species back then.
Homologous, Analogous & Vestigial Structures
What is it- The vestigial tailbone in humans is homologous to the functional tail of other primates. Vestigial structures can be viewed as evidence for evolution. Organisms having vestigial structures probably share a common ancestry with organisms in with organisms in which the homologous structure is functional.
How it supports evolution- It shows evidence of the change over time.
Embryology
What is it- The development of an embryo from the fertilization of the ovum to the fetus stage.
How it Supports Evolution- They look the same when you take x-rays so it mostly means that we came from the same organism type.
