Adjectives
Adjectives are so important to communication. The simple definition of an adjective is, according to Merriam-Webster, "a word used to modify a noun". While true, this defintion doesn't fully convey how amazing adjectives are. They lend so much to everyday speech in such ways as telling us the size, shape, color, and age of things (...the large, rectangular, white, new chair). They can tell us what material an object is made of (..the wooden chair), what its origin is (...an American chair), and an adjective is sometimes necessary to tell us what sort of noun we are dealing with (how would you say rocking chair without an adjective?). That is why the publisher of grammar books should keep the adjectives as a part of it.
