COVID Information
COVID-19 Information
We continually update our Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) document to align with public health guidance.
We continue to monitor our data closely during the holiday season. You may find our dashboard here.
The County Office of Education has positively recognized our testing process as exceeding the standard program. We are proud of our work to ensure a transparent, efficient testing system and a safe environment. COVID 19 testing is available at LAHS and MVHS five days per week. One-time pre-registration is required. The schedule is posted here.
The County Office of Education has issued some timely information about travel, masking, and ways to stay healthy over the holiday season. You may find their links here: Holiday Gathering Fact Sheet, CDC Travel Information, CDC Travel Recommendations
MVLAHSD Establishes a Family Partnership Council
The Mountain View Los Altos School District is proud to establish the Family Partnership Council (FPC). The FPC is being established as part of the district’s goal to strengthen and facilitate communication, feedback, and collaboration between the MVLAHSD families and district staff.
The purpose of the FPC is to provide an opportunity for families and district staff to work together to examine issues from multiple perspectives and engage in collaborative discussions on issues impacting student learning. Read more here.
The Council will consist of current parent representatives and two At Large positions. The application for the At Large positions may be found here.
ThoughtExchange
As part of our ongoing series of ThoughtExchanges© in the “Talk to Us Tuesdays” initiative, we recently focused on gathering feedback to help improve the district websites. While there were a range of contributions on topics from attendance and events to finding all the new bell schedules, the most significant number of participants told us that they wanted better organization of content, making things easier to find. Families prioritized having updated calendars with all school and academic events in addition to athletics. Participants also wanted a better experience using the mobile version of the websites and more accurate search functions. General navigation issues seemed to be consistently top on the list to improve and prioritize in the redesign process.
Catapult© has told us they are working on improving the search features. In addition to redesigned and reorganized websites, we will be launching the Connect App in the coming months so that families can access high-traffic information like announcements and bell schedules in a more simplified manner. You can see more detailed results by visiting the DASHBOARD, which is always posted at the conclusion of a ThoughtExchange© session on the ConnectMVLA webpage.
