Week 14 - 12/8/2018: Monthly PBIS focus is GENEROSITY
Thank you for all of the generous donations for our Holiday Gift Shop! Items have been poring in and PTO members have been busy sorting through to see what else is needed. Our North Plains Events Committee donated almost $800.00 to fill in any gaps we may have. Thank you so very much! We are once again having a Science Fair and all grade levels are encouraged to participate! This year we will have the fair early enough that participants can attend our district fair if they would like, and our 5th and 6th grade students can enter a regional fair that may qualify them to attend a State Science Fair. Our NPES Science Fair will be on Tuesday, Feb. 5, in the early evening. More details to come soon!
This past week I received some information regarding the new school and the timing of its opening. The decision has been made to open the new school, (yes, it is additional, not a replacement school), in the fall of 2021. This is in line with the original timeline set out by HSD when the bond was being passed. There was discussion of opening it a year earlier, but they have now determined it is best to keep the original date. Our projected enrollment for the next two years is 436 for 2019-2020, and 479 for 2020-2021, so we will definitely be tight! Please know that the upcoming challenges of growth will be met and we will make it work:) My biggest concern is the parent drop off and pick up, which is already a huge challenge, and district office people are well aware of our needs. I'll keep you posted as to what changes will be happening and when. Thank you in advance for your positive outlook and willingness to work with us to make the necessary accommodations as we grow! (See our new motto below:))
Have a wonderful week!
