Have you heard the latest? They opened up the sales window to give you one last chance to buy this year's yearbook.


You are in it! Probably several times. You'll want to look back at this year and all your friends and activities.


Plus....I heard a rumor that some of the teachers included their middle school pictures. Look at your Wrangler Time teacher right now. Can you picture him or her as a 7th grader?


This Friday, Feb. 21 is the last, last chance. Don't miss out!


Order forms are outside room 103 or you can order online by going to the CMS WEST website and then navigating to the YEARBOOK page under the ACTIVITIES tab.

FRIDAY FEBRUARY 7

Valentines Dance

HELLO WRANGLERS – The Theatre Department is sponsoring a Winter Dance next Thursday from 5:30-8:00. Tickets are $5 at the door. We will have Karaoke, a Photo Booth, and special Concessions.

The Theatre Department will also be selling VALAGRAMS next week for $5. Valagrams include a Gift with a Card and a FREE DANCE TICKET. If you buy three Valagrams, you get one free. So send you friends a Valagram and join them at the Dance! Valagrams will be sold during lunch on Monday thru Wednesday as well as before school in the Drama Room. They will be delivered during Fifth Period on Thursday.

National Geographic Bee Winner

WHIZBOTS

Some of our current and former West students recently won the Research Award for their Project Research as well as second place at the First Lego League North Texas Regional Championship. They are one of only two teams who have been selected to go to the 2020 LEGO League World Festival Championship in Houston.

Hey Wranglers, you are down to the final 5 days to pre-order your yearbook. We only order the number of books that are pre-ordered. So the only way you can be guaranteed to get a yearbook is if you place your order by Friday.

Have you ordered your yearbook yet? It's not too late, but you are running out of time. Friday, January 31st is the last day you can order a 2020 yearbook.

You can visit the yearbook page on the West website or pick up an order form outside Mrs. McGinnes's room - room 103. All orders must be placed by next Friday, the 31st.

TX Thespians Junior Festival

20 West Junior Thespians attended the TX Thespians Junior Festival on Saturday. They competed in a variety of technical and performance events. West had 15 competitors in 8 events. Each performance was rated and those performance receiving the highest rating advanced to compete at the National level. Please join me in congratulating the following learners who advanced to National competition-

Aryan Dalal and Jacob Hendricks - Duet Acting

Akanksha Subbarrao - Theatre Marketing

**Aria Juma (a former Westie who now is at North) joined our Troupe and qualified in Costume Construction


Also - Diya Hegde and Nanditha Diggikar competed in Duet Musical and missed advancing by 1 point.


Finally- West Junior Thespian Troupe 88607 was named the All Star Troupe.


While I am bragging on this group - In November they attended the Texas Renaissance Festival and competed in a variety of performance and writing events. This was a large competition with schools from all over the State. Please also congratulate-


Nanditha Diggikar - won FIRST place for Poetry.

Jacob Hendricks- won THIRD place for Essay.

Sarah Myers - won FOURTH place for Monologue.

AND Ashia Agarwal who won an Honorable Mention for Costume Design/Construction.

#Westfam Movie Day on Friday December 20th

On Friday December 20th, school will be dismissed at 1:45. Learners do not need to bring backpacks, technology or other school materials on this day.


This week learners are choosing which movie(s) they would like to watch on December 20th. There will be a morning and afternoon movie. Learners will be welcome to wear their pajamas and bring a blanket and a drink to enjoy during the movie. We will also be selling tickets next week to purchase snacks for the movie day.


If learners would rather read a book than watch a movie, they will be welcome to do that as well.

Wednesday December 4th

Toothbrush Donations

Hi Wranglers! We need your help, Our CMS West Drama Club will be collecting toothbrushes, and tooth brush cases to give to a local nursing home. Our charity event will be going on from Monday, December 9th, through Friday December 13. To turn in an new and packaged toothbrushes, or toothbrush cover bring it to a box on the stage where one of our representatives will be collecting them before school and during every lunch period. You can also turn them into the Drama Room. We will not be collecting electric toothbrushes, just the plastic ones that you can easily buy at your local Walgreens. If you donate 3 toothbrushes you will get 1 raffle ticket. All of the raffle tickets will be placed in a random drawing, with 2 winners. The two winners will get 1 of 2 amazon gift cards! Let’s help provide a resource for those in need.

New Art Club

All students interested in being in a new Art Club, please come to an organizational meeting after school this Wednesday until 4:00 in room 101 with Mrs. Cary. If you cannot be at the meeting, stop by and talk with Mrs. Cary by Wednesday.

Dodgeball Tournament

The @ Battle is an epic dodgeball tournament open to grades 6-12, with separate brackets for middle & high school students. The tournament is being held at Coppell Middle School North on December 14, 2019. It costs $5 per person, with teams of 6, and will include at least 2 games per player. All proceeds support students at New Tech High @ Coppell. For further information & registration, please visitwww.theatbattle.com.

We are collecting donations for the Denton County Friends of the Family Thanksgiving Drive benefiting women and children in our community who are victims of domestic violence.

Top Items Needed:

1. Pumpkin Pie (Canned Pumpkin and Pie Crust Mix)
2. Mashed Potatoes & Gravy
3. Cranberry Sauce
4. Canned Veggies (Corn, Carrots, Peas)
5. Gift Cards to Walmart or Kroger for $20 (this allows clients to purchase the protein of their choice, be it turkey, ham, beef, chicken or tofu)

MOVIE NIGHT

Hey Wranglers!! I hope you are all getting excited about our Fall Social - A Movie Night Under The Stars! (This) Friday, November 1st we will be showing Aladdin on a big screen out on the football field. We will also have pizza, popcorn, candy, and hot chocolate for sale.

Tickets go on sale Wednesday, Oct 30th at lunch. Entry tickets are $5 or you can get your ticket with a pizza, soda, and popcorn combo for $10 and get an extra slice of pizza!!

It should be a great time so get your tickets early and invite all your friends!
