Volume 3: December 2022
Upcoming Events
Next week will be EOC retesting for those of you who previously took an EOC, but still need to pass it in order to meet graduation requirements. Here's the schedule:
Tuesday, Decmeber 6- English I & US History
Wednesday, December 7- Algebra 1
Thursday, December 8- English II & Biology
Friday, December 9- makeup testing for absent students
At the end of the announcements on those days, your teachers will be asked to release you. We will be testing in the Boardroom which is in the Administration Building just past my office. This testing will be conducted ONLINE, so you need to be sure your Chromebook (and calculator if applicable) is fully charged (and with you) for your test. I will meet with you ahead of time to be sure you are familiar with the online testing system.
Remember when we come back in January, you'll have Fridays off for the spring semester (except for the first Friday in April)!

Reminders for Seniors:
-If you are not going to complete the FAFSA, I need the signed waiver turned in to me.
-You should be applying to colleges (if that's your goal).
-Kuder Navigator is available to help you find a career and/or college! Email me if you do not remember how to log in to this. Myself and your teachers also enjoy helping you figure these things out, so don't be afraid to start a conversation!
-Let me know as you finish those college applications so that I can send them your official transcript.
-If you are needing teacher recommendations, be sure to ask them early so they have plenty of time to create a well-written and thoughtful letter. Also, be sure to give them a resume listing the activities you have participated in (with number of years) and awards you've received.
-There will be an opportunity to take the TSIA 2.0 at school in the spring for those of you who are not exempt and are going to college. You can also take it at your college if you wish. If you aren't sure if you are exempt or not, just ask me!

Reminder about Attendance
I know it is not always easy to show up every day, but it is necessary to learn what you need to learn and grow as a responsible individual.
Note about Courses
How do you view a problem?
Here's another video that discusses coping with challenging situations:
Shift- change your perspective (find a positive)
Persist- believe you have an impact (help someone else)
Remember, avoiding the problem just prolongs the amount of time you have to deal with it!
