ASSESSMENT ~ CAASPP State Testing News: Registration opens this week!
CCS is offering several testing sites to choose from across the state. Scholars will be completing the tests on a computer at the testing locations.
How do I know if I should sign my scholar(s) up for testing?
All scholars in grades 3-8 and 11 will test in English and math. Scholars in grades 5, 8, 11, and 12 will test in science. Some scholars may need more than one day to test.
Help us reach our goal of 95% participation!
Watch for a Parent Square post this week with instructions for registering your scholar for CAASPP testing.

DIGITAL LEARNING DAY ~ We are celebrating Digital Learning Day (DLD) this Thursday, February 28, by highlighting technology and how it enhances our daily learning opportunities. Check us out on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram to hear from our teachers about the importance of digital learning!
ELEMENTARY WRITING BOOT CAMP ~ Our K-5 scholars are invited to joining Ms. Villegas, online elementary teacher, for her writing boot camps that will happen during the next five weeks! There will be a session for opinion writing and another for expository writing. END OF LEARNING PERIOD ~ Can you believe we are already at the end of another learning period?! Learning Period 6 ends this Thursday, February 28. Please be sure you have completed all of your Activity Logs in ParentSquare by Friday. (This week’s will be sent to you on Friday.) Also, please have your scholar’s work samples uploaded into Seesaw by Thursday, although before is better! Here are some helpful work sample guides for TK-8 and high school. Contact your EF if you have any questions.

BOOK CLUB ~ Come join Ms Beamish and Mrs. Hardy’s book club tomorrow, Tuesday, February 26 during lunch from 12:30-1:15 pm.
PHYSICAL FITNESS TEST ~ Our 5 and 7 grade Navigators’ will be completing their PFT on campus this Thursday, February, 28 at 1:15 pm. Please bring a beach towel, water and dress appropriate for physical activity.
VENDOR RELATIONS
RD Equine in Paramount, teaches horsemanship and horse husbandry lessons that include instruction in equipment and grooming activities, parts of the horse and bathing activities, feeding and care activities, communication and connection activities, and tacking up and possible mounted activities. Children learn empathy, animal care, passion for horses, strength, skill, and confidence. Courses are 5 weeks in length, Mondays and Wednesdays at 12pm and some upcoming start dates include 4/1 and 4/3.

Middle & High School College Career Success Cafe - What is on your summer bucket list? - Our middle and high school scholars are invited to join the CCS Cafe tomorrow, Tuesday, February 26 from 12:30 pm to 1 pm. This month our counseling team is hosting a session on how to create a summer bucket list to have a productive summer and prepare for your future. To join our counselors, please RSVP.
Counseling with Compass LIVE: Middle & High School Scholars come meet with the Compass Counseling Team at San Diego State University (SDSU) - Our middle and high school scholars are invited to join an in-person event with the counseling team this Wednesday, February 27 from 11:30 am to 2 pm. Come join the counseling team for a day at San Diego State University! Scholars will begin with a campus tour, led by an SDSU representative. Scholars can also meet individually with their counselor, and/or our College & Career Readiness Counselor if desired. To join our counselors, please RSVP.

CyberMath Academy Summer Camps ~ CyberMath Academy offers camps in College Prep, Math, Coding, Robotics, Game Design and Physics for scholars in grades 4-12. MS. GOLAN’S TIP FOR LEARNING COACHES ~ What should I do to prepare for my scholar’s IEP meeting? The purpose of the IEP meeting is to develop each child’s Individualized Education Program (IEP). Learning coaches can prepare for this meeting by:
Making a list of their child’s strengths and needs
Talking to teachers and/or therapists for guidance
Attending their scholar’s classes
Talking to their scholar about their feelings toward school
Writing down a few notes about what their child can accomplish during the school year and what they would like to discuss during the meeting
Reviewing state standards for their child’s grade level
