Homework Hideout
Team 5A: Tuesdays & Thursdays
Team 5B: Wednesdays & Thursdays

Students in grades 5-8 are also welcome to stay for a combined Homework Hideout on Thursdays in C210.
Homework Hideout is available from 3:10-4:50. Bus riders would remain in Homework Hideout for the duration of the time slot. Walkers and students being picked up can stay until they are finished with their work. All students need to report to Homework Hideout immediately after dismissal and are not allowed to go outside and then return inside the building.
Students should check with their team teachers for the location of their team's Homework Hideout as locations may rotate according to the teacher on duty.

Quiz Bowl
Congratulations to Buffett's Quiz Bowl A Team of Arnav P., Kaden H., Daily L., Luca D., and Ryan A. for their 3rd place finish at Beveridge Middle School Quiz Bowl competition held on Saturday, Sept. 23. Many of the matches came down to the wire with the team beating Brownell Talbot in overtime!
Buffett's Quiz Bowl B Team competed well with many close matches. This was their first ever competition and they finished 1-4. The Buffett B Team is made up of Jackson W., Tate G., Charlotte E., Chi Chi W., and Riley H.

A Day with 5th Grade

Club Wednesdays
Our Dance Club is enjoying eight weeks of learning hip-hop zumba. DIY Club is busy making all kinds of fun crafts. The CARE Club (7-8) have made and donated cat toys to a local shelter, are making bird feeders, and preparing for guest speakers. Our Dog Care/Service Learning Club (5-6) have made dog toys, watched a vet perform a check up on Mrs. Tunning's dog, Lucy, and are getting ready for some visits from the Humane Society. Indoor Bocce Ball and Ping Pong are perfecting their games. The Walking Club and Exercise Clubs are taking fitness to the next level, and our Board Game and Chess Clubs are enjoying friendly competition and laughter. Art Clubs are creating master pieces, and the Cooking Clubs are creating edible master pieces.
Students will continue with their current club through the end of this semester. They will take part in a second club starting in January through the end of the school year.

The Girls Cross Country team is on fire placing in the top two at every meet.

September Students of Distinction
Students of Distinction are chosen monthly by their team teachers. Each team chooses two students that exemplify the Buffett High Five: respect, responsibility, preparedness, ready to learn, and safety. Students are notified in the morning and then enjoy lunch with Mr. CK, a parent or guardian, and a friend.
