Reminder, NO SCHOOL November 20th

Parents and Families,


Tomorrow, November 20th will be a teacher plan day. Teachers will use this day in preparation for remote learning beginning November 30th thru December 17th. Teachers will communicate directly with their families on the learning schedules for their class. Pioneer Elementary has elected to have a common lunch and recess time from 12:00-12:45. This will allow families to have a common break time if they have multiple grade levels in the household.


DCSD will continue to evaluate the COVID-19 situation during December to make further decisions about the second semester. The second semester is currently scheduled to resume Monday, January 4 for staff and Tuesday, January 5, for students. We will continue to keep families updated on our plans for return following Winter Break.

Book Fair ~ Virtual


Pioneer Elementary Online Book Fair, November 23-December 6.

All book purchases will benefit our school library, 25% of all sales will be used to purchase books and support events.


Books will ship directly to your home and shipping is free for all book purchases of $25 or more. Books will ship in time for Christmas!

We will offer 2-day meal bags for all full, in-person learners and 5-day meal bags for all other kids 18 and under. Curbside pickups on Fridays 1:00PM-2:00PM No pre-order required, just show up at any of our Middle or High Schools.

STEP 1: CREATE AN ONLINE DIGITAL ACCOUNT
**NOTE: If you already have an online digital account, skip to STEP 2**

  1. Go to www.kingsoopers.com
  2. Select ‘Create an Account’
  3. Enter your zip code and select your preferred store.
  4. Create your sign-in information-enter your email and create a password.
  5. Enter your King Soopers Loyalty Card Number or Alt ID or create your Alt ID Online.
  6. Select ‘Create Account’
  7. Continue to STEP #2

STEP 2: LINK YOUR ACCOUNT TO OUR COMMUNITY REWARDS PROGRAM

  1. Sign-in using your email and password. (This will be the email and password you created in STEP 1)
  2. Select ‘My Account’ from drop down menu. Then select ‘Community Rewards’ from the menu on the left-hand side.
  3. Under ‘Find an Organization’: Enter PIONEER ELEMENTARY SCHOOL PTO or KC054 and select our school.
  4. You should now see Pioneer listed under ‘Community Rewards’ on your Account Summary page.
  5. You have successfully linked your loyalty card to our rewards program. Thank you for supporting education excellence at Pioneer!

We live in a tumultuous and challenging time. It’s never been more difficult to be a parent or a student. Nick Thomspon is a dynamic and entertaining presenter with a unique perspective on helping students cope with social media, school, and thrive in a rapidly changing world. Nick Thompson is a licensed social worker who has been working with students and families for over 13 years. He has presented to counselors, parents, and students all over the US and internationally. Though his presentation is geared towards parents, it is appropriate for middle and high school students to attend. "

2021 Apple Awards Nominations Are Now Open

Each year, the Douglas County School District community celebrates its outstanding teachers and staff through the annual Apple Awards. Our teachers and staff have shown extraordinary efforts this year to help ensure students' success, and we are very excited to announce the opening of this year's Apple Awards nomination process!
