Word Study Groups
Each day, Miller's Littles participate in Word Study centers. We do something different every day, depending on our group and work with someone different each time. Sometimes we work on our own, other times we work with Ms. Miller, Ms. Lancaster, or a fellow student. Each center activity is authentic and asks students to work with words and attack them individually. Whether we are creating our own word searches and asking friends to hunt for hidden words, listening to a book on tape, or building words with blocks or beads, we are actively participating in learning and doing something fresh and new to keep our brains growing!

Veteran's Day
This Tuesday we will discuss Veteran's Day and why Americans celebrate this special day. Please discuss with your Miller's Little as to why it's important to support and thank our veterans in the United States. We will write messages to veterans this week and Ms. Miller will take them to the sailors on the USS George H. W. Bush (CVN 77) this coming weekend for their homecoming from a 9 month deployment.

About Ms. Miller
I am from a military family and grew up in several areas around the United States. I received my B.A. from the University of Mary Washington in American Studies. I enjoyed Mary Washington so much that I decided to stay and get my Masters of Science in Elementary Education. This will be my eighth year as a teacher and I love being a part of a child's individual learning journey. In addition to teaching, I am passionate about horseback riding and being active outside. I am very excited to be working at Crozet Elementary this year!
