Fall Parent/Teacher Conferences
Online scheduling for Parent/Teacher Conferences begins on Thursday, October 7, at 8:00am!
Online Parent/Teacher Conference Scheduling Information:
Parent/Teacher Conference Scheduling in Family Access will begin on Thursday, Oct. 7 at 8:00am and will be open until Sunday, Oct. 17 at 10:00pm. Each child will have one 20 minute time slot. If you have multiple children in school, we recommend you schedule early for the best chance of grouping your conference times together. If you do not have internet access or have questions regarding the online conference scheduling process, please contact the school office at 262-560-8005. Once scheduling is complete, teachers will reach out to families to verify if you will be attending in person or virtually.
Principal's Message
Families,
Paws Up to our students, staff, and families for a wonderful Homecoming week. It was great to see all of the excitement on the parade route. Special shoutouts to our PTO for supplying us with the candy to throw out, to the Munzel family for the truck and trailer, to the Salzman family for the straw bales to sit on, and to our staff and families for joining us in the parade!
Parent-teacher conferences are right around the corner. Scheduling begins later this week and you can find all the information you need in today's Paw Print. Please know that after you schedule your time, your child's teacher will reach out to confirm if you would like an in-person conference or a virtual conference. One thing we learned last year virtual conferences were quite successful: families could meet without the commute, siblings didn't need to wait around for a brother or sisters conference, no childcare was needed, a family member could join from work if needed, and maybe best of all...you didn't have to sit in tiny chairs!
Paws Up!
Mr. Schreiber

Devereux Student Strengths Assessment (DESSA) Information
During the week of October 11, our 5K through 8th-grade teachers will use a new tool called the Devereux Student Strengths Assessment (DESSA) to better understand which life skills our students have already learned and which may still need to develop. DESSA is a research-based tool where teachers can indicate how often a student has demonstrated specific life skills within the past month. The DESSA evaluates life skills like persistence at challenging tasks, making good decisions, working well with others, and a variety of other skills that are included as desired characteristics of an OASD graduate in our Graduate Profile.
School staff will use information from DESSA for future planning and programming within the classroom, school, and district wide. Our goal is to ensure that your child is continuously developing the skills they need for lifelong success.
If you would like additional information about the DESSA, visit http://www.ApertureEd.com. If you would like to opt-out of this assessment please email Mr. Schreiber at schreibj@oasd.org by Thursday, October 7.
