Morning Drop Off

We are introducing a new morning drop-off procedure to prioritize student safety. This change aims to create a smoother and safer experience for everyone.

Enhanced Safety, Streamlined Experience:

Our goal is a safe and efficient morning drop-off. We're shifting from two lanes to one, maximizing our drop-off space and streamlining the process for better results.

Single Lane Process:

Please pull vehicles as forward as possible in the designated area to optimize curb space. This change accommodates more vehicles and speeds up drop-offs.

Safety First:

Instead of dropping off directly where students walk to the rear of the building, they might need to take a few additional steps in that direction. We're confident that the safety advantages of this change outweigh the short-term adjustment. Please ensure students are prepared to exit before reaching the drop-off point to reduce delays and maintain a smooth traffic flow.

Longer Stops and Trunk Use:

Please use the parking lot for longer stops or trunk access to avoid drop-off lane congestion. Students can safely cross using the marked crosswalk.

Your understanding and cooperation are appreciated as we implement these changes. Student safety is our priority; we're confident these adjustments will enhance our morning drop-off routine.

Free and Reduced Lunch Applications Open for 2023-2024 School Year

Starting in the 2023-2024 school year, FFC8 offers free breakfast and lunch to all students through Colorado's Healthy School Meals for All program. While meals are free this year, please continue filling out the federal application for educational benefits. It helps adjust classroom, athletic, laptop, and other fees and offers sliding scale payment for Summer School in 2024.

For Aragon Elementary or Welte Education Center students, complete the Family Economic Data Survey. For Abrams, AIM, Carson Middle, Eagleside, Fountain Middle, Fountain-Fort Carson High School, Jordahl, Mesa, Mountainside, Patriot, or Weikel students, use the Free and Reduced School Meals Application. If you have students in both categories, submit one of each form if applying online. For paper applications, get the combined form at the FFC8 Nutrition Services office – 425 W. Alabama Ave.

For questions, call Nutrition Services at (719) 382-1334.

Your data helps secure grants, federal funding, and benefits local organizations. Apply by September 30 to access benefits this school year.

Student Deliveries

To maximize classroom time, follow these guidelines for delivering forgotten items during the school day:

Drop off forgotten items at the table near the Attendance Secretary's office, labeled with your student's name and grade.

Students can retrieve non-classroom items during lunch. Please note that only parents or guardians can deliver personal lunches to the Attendance office; we cannot accept deliveries from businesses or organizations.

October Athletics

Girls Soccer & Co-ed Wrestling start on October 2nd. Students must have a current physical and athletic registration on file to participate. Those without these documents won't be able to practice. Physicals are required each calendar year, while athletic registration is an annual requirement.
