MOMS October Updates

Holy Spirit Parish at Geist

About MOMS

The Ministry of Mothers Sharing (MOMS) is a ministry for mothers at Holy Spirit to share their faith stories, experiences and traditions with other moms. Our Vision is to be a faith-filled ministry supporting and serving one another and our community with love, friendship, compassion, and laughter on our journey of motherhood.

We're off to a great start!

We're so happy that you have joined us for MOMS this year. We have had a wonderful start to our 2016-17 year this September and the Holy Spirit has blessed us with wonderful discussions on motherhood, grace, and the virtues that the Blessed Mother can help us bring into our lives. We're looking forward to the next few months, and we hope you find the opportunity to join us as often as you can. We know that life is busy, but we hope that in the midst of all of the demands of motherhood you know that we're here to support you. Carve out some time for Jesus, and come be lifted up by the support of your fellow travelers on the road. We belong to each other. See you at a meeting soon.

With love,

Your MOMS Facilitators

Sarah and Jen

Prayer Partners

Ashley S. is coordinating our NEW prayer partner ministry this year. We're so excited for all of the ideas Ashley has to offer, and we really enjoyed the beautiful prayer activity she led this month based on 1 Corinthians 13!

Ashley is busy partnering interested mamas for a semester-long commitment to check in and pray for one another's intentions. This is open to all registered moms, even those who cannot regularly attend meetings. We hope that it will serve to strengthen bonds, allow you to connect with new friends, and grow in your prayer life.

All registrations for prayer partners should be done by Friday, October 7 by emailing Ashley or signing up at a meeting. If you missed this semester, don't worry! We'll partner again in January!

Prayer partners along with our current roster will go out to all registered members the week of October 10.

Prayer, Pumpkins and Pie

Thursday, Oct. 20th, 7pm

10350 Glaser Way

Fishers, IN

Please join us for a fun evening of crafts and fellowship! We'll have a brief prayer/devotion, a fun fall-themed prayer pumpkin craft and a dessert bar! You'll leave with some fun home decor and a new prayer activity to share with your children!

There are NO regular MOMS meetings scheduled for October 20 because of HSE Fall Break, so this will be the only gathering that week.

We'll each pitch in a dessert or treat to share, and also gather some craft supplies to decorate our pumpkins. Be on the lookout for an online signup for what to bring.

Can't wait to celebrate Fall with all of you! Let us know if you can make it so we can plan accordingly.

Thanksgiving Baskets

Our first big service project is around the corner: partnering with the parish outreach ministry to provide 4 Thanksgiving baskets for families in need. Michelle and Erin will be sending out a sign up soon once we get the final list of items from the parish so that you can keep an eye out for deals or simply check this off your list! We'll provide three baskets through donated items and will also accept donations of money to shop for any additional items and hopefully another full basket as we have done in the past. We love being a part of this project, and we're grateful to all of you for helping bless other families this Fall. Stay tuned!

Our ministry is open to women with children of ALL ages. We have veteran mamas and brand new moms, and so much to share and learn from one another as we grow in faith!

Meetings start with an opening prayer and introductions, followed by a discussion on various topics related to our motherhood and our faith. Our time together wraps up with prayer intentions and a closing prayer. Attendance is not required every week to be a part of MOMs – just come when you are able.

Please contact us at hspmoms@gmail.com if you have any questions before you attend your first meeting!
