Dramatic Irony
Dramatic Irony- the expression of one's meaning by using language that normally signifies the opposite, typically for humorous or emphatic effect.
Ex. 1 The murderer hid in the bed, the woman had opened the door and walked towards the bed. She then picked up the blanket and saw the murderer. The murderer then disposed her.
Ex. 2 Ronald McDonald hid in Burger King with a pie inside the kitchen under the sink. The Burger King had walked inside the kitchen and went to the sink to wash his hands. Ronald McDonald then burst end out from under the sink and smashed the pie in the Burger King's face. Ronald then sprinted out from the building.
Ex. 3 Two people at a wedding got married, though the audience knew that the man would find another woman.
