All Things Rushing!
Principal's Message!
As we are heading into our third full week of school, I want to say thank you again for all of your support, grace, and patience! Additionally, there are some things that we are fine tuning to make everything run even smoother. One of the things that I want to revisit is dismissal. Everyone has been fabulous about following procedures and because of that, our carlines are cleared out in about 10 minutes. That is phenomenal for the beginning of school, so thank you all again!
Having said that, I would ask if you are picking up in the back carline at dismissal, that you not park on Harper at the back entrance to Artesia. Our bike riders are exiting campus near the back staff entrance and crossing the carline. With people parked on Harper to pick up their kids, there is very little visibility for the bike riders and for the other cars actually using the carline. When you park on Harper instead of using the carline, it makes a spot with already decreased visibility even more difficult for our bike riders navigate.
We will also be speaking to the bike riding kiddos about bike safety and I would ask that you talk to your kiddos too. As they exit the back of the school on Harper, we would ask that they not cross the carline and remain on the south side of Harper until they get to a spot that is safer to cross. Currently, they are shooting across the carline and that is not safe for anyone.
As always, please reach out with any questions or concerns! I have so enjoyed meeting so many kiddos and families! Thank you for your continued support and, as I have said, with GRACE, GRATITUDE, and KINDNESS, we can resolve any issue and move forward for the success of our students at Rushing Middle School, GO RAPTORS!
Sincerely,
Danielle Wallace
Career Day Speakers Needed!
In order to best fit the needs of our current circumstances regarding health and safety, we will be hosting Career Day virtually. We are asking any interested speaker to select one of the following options:
1. Submit a 20-25 minute video which will answer guided questions provided by the RMS counseling department.
2. Commit to appear live virtually through Google Meet from 9am to 10:35am for 3 different student groups (30 minutes each) on November 20th to discuss your career path and answer questions from students.
Our goal for Career Day is to expose our students to as many different career fields and educational backgrounds as possible. If you are interested in being a guest in one of the two formats listed above, please complete this Google Form, and we will be in contact with you.
Please direct any questions to Torrey Eckert (tneckert@prosper-isd.net). Thank You!

"Be Kind" T-Shirts - Order Yours Today
Hope Squad has organized "Be Kind" yellow T-Shirts as a symbol to simply be kind to one another, which is why you often see yellow shirts and apparel throughout our district on every Wednesday of each month. This stems from supporting the cause of suicide awareness and prevention. This year we have two shirt options for you to choose from and purchase through myschoolbucks for $10. Orders will be placed monthly and delivered to your child's campus. The first order will be placed September 1st.
Please log into your "MySchoolBucks" account to order your t-shirt. The shirt will be delivered to your child's campus.
