Fall Paddle - Meet at Food Lion in Bowling Green

Sunday, Oct. 4th, 12pm

Meet at the Food Lion Parking Lot in Bowling Green at noon

MPRA paddlers will be the ones with kayaks and canoes sticking out of their trucks.

Join us for a paddle on this beautiful stretch of the river.

We will take a few cars to the take out. The rest of the vehicles will take boats to the put in. We plan to be on the water by 12:45.

The distance is about 5 miles. The put in is at the Mattaponi Wildlife Management, where Paige Road crosses the river. The take out is near Milford on Nelson Hill Road, Rt 722. Bring your own lunch and water.

All participants must have a life jacket.

The cost is $15 per person.

All you need to do is fill out the online registration. Waiver forms will be available at the landing. You must sign a waiver before launching. Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Anyone under 12 must be in a boat accompanied with an adult. You can mail your check (made to MPRA) to MPRA, P. O. Box 115, Walkerton, VA 23177.

Be sure to pack at lunch and plenty of water

If you are interested in renting a canoe call Chris VanLandingham at Calm Waters Adventures @ (804) 921-1001. He will be bringing them to the launch so if you rent one you will not have to worry about transporting it.
