Daniel Wright Junior High School Newsletter - Jan. 22, 2021
Need some academic assistance? Daniel Wright offers students the P.A.S.S. (Providing Academic Success for Students) after school academic program. The P.A.S.S. program is an excellent opportunity for students to take advantage of Stevenson student peer tutors and a DW Staff member after the regular school day.
Stevenson peer tutors, coupled with DW P.A.S.S. supervisors, are available to provide support to students through Zoom assistance in the following ways:
Reviewing and reinforcing academic content
Preparing for quizzes and other assessments
Reviewing and editing written assignments
Having a quizzing partner for test preparation or vocabulary development
Helping with creating presentation for group or individual projects
Providing support, tips and tricks with electronic resources such as Zoom, Google Docs, sheets & slides...
Fill out the DW Google Form for assistance.
School Picture Days Set
Daniel Wright picture day has been scheduled for next week. Pictures are being taken by Stuart-Rodgers Photography, which has provided excellent service to our school for many years. Their company has been serving many other area schools and understand safety concerns and procedures during this pandemic. Student photos will be taken individually and all the safety procedures will be followed. Please fill out the Picture Order Form in advance of picture day and have your child bring it with them to school.
The picture day schedule is as follows:
- In-Person Learners - 8:45 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. Friday, Jan. 29
- Full Remote Learners - 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 30. Remote learners should sign up for a picture time slot using this form.
If remote students are unable to attend Picture Day on Jan. 30, the following options are available:
- Make an appointment for a private picture session at Stuart Rodgers Photography. Stuart–Rodgers Photography contact information is on the order form.
- The picture we have on file from the 2019-2020 school year can be put in the yearbook if you don't want to have a professional photo taken.
- Students' names will be listed in the yearbook if the district does not have a previous photo on file and you don't want to have a professional photo taken.

Leave Your Legacy in D103
The D103 Learning Fund Foundation invites your family to leave a legacy at D103 with the launch of the Legacy Brick Fundraiser. With the completion of the Daniel Wright construction project, the Foundation invites families to donate $100 to inscript their name on a brick pathway outside the remodeled school.
This LFF Legacy Brick Fundraiser video, narrated by Daniel Wright Principal Michelle Blackley and featuring the new school mascot, outlines the project. This is a great opportunity to bring our community together, so please consider a donation. The Learning Fund and all of our schools appreciate your generous support.
