Madisyn Johnson
Hi my name is Madisyn Johnson. I'm from Fredrick Douglass High School. I remember when someone came to my middle school and told us about Locust Trace and I wanted to get accepted so bad and I did. I wanted to come to Locust Trace to further my education on animals through the pre-vet program. While I have been at Trace, I have been enrolled in the vet program with classes such as vet science, animal technology, and small animal and am now a level four vet assistant. Locust Trace is a hands-on school, which is the best way I learn. I have done everything from sampling fecals to bathing dogs. The best memory would have to be the experience I have gotten to share with my friends while in the program. I hope I will get to work with them again in the future. Having this experience is a one in a life time chance and I am beyond blessed to have gotten accepted. I plan on going to college to further my education and hopefully go to Auburn University and get my degree in veterinary medicine. Things are weird your first year here, it takes some getting used to. You have to be open to new things. Never did I think I would go to a farm school and go home telling my mom about cleaning stalls and bathing dogs. Locust Trace is by far my favorite place with the teachers, the students, how small the school is, everything. I highly recommend coming to this school and if you need anything Mrs. DeMott and Mrs.Fox are always there. I just want to thank them so much for what they do for the school and what they have done for me these four years I've been here. This has been a life changing experience.
