Back to School - August 2022

A note from your Principal

I am so excited for another year to begin. I absolutely love it here at Maroa - Forsyth. I know you are entrusting us with your child’s education, and we are doing everything we can to make that education a successful and safe one. I also know that success would not be possible without the support from families both at school and at home. We look forward to working with you and welcome you. With the start of a new year, know you can always reach me at 217-877-2023 ext. 3 and/or my email: carrie.reynolds@mfschools.net.

Here’s to a great year!

Sincerely,

Carrie Reynolds

Principal

Beginning of the Year Information

On behalf of our family here at Maroa-Forsyth Grade School, we welcome you to the 2022-2023 school year! I am excited to welcome all new and returning families for another great year here at the grade school.

For our returning families, if you have not registered, please do so before August 1st.

The school is looking wonderful and safe, thanks to the hard work of our custodial staff. The building will be ready for our first day of school.

NEW STUDENT REGISTRATION

We invite new students to register in person on Wednesday, August 3rd from 12-5.

Safe Student Drop-Off and Pick-Up

The morning drop-off begins at 8:15 and the after-school pick-up begins at 3:00. The area is located at the back of the building. Parents are to stay in their car and follow the traffic flow. Because of the volume of traffic before and after school, parents are not allowed to come toward the building to pick up their children. This time of the day moves very quickly. Do not double park in the traffic lane.

Gold Name Cards

In order to provide a safe environment for your students, we ask for your cooperation during pick-up. Please have your gold pick-up name card visible in the car window. This will not only keep the flow of traffic moving, but it will also inform the staff of who is picking up the student from school.

Gold Dismissal Change Notes

Any changes to a student’s pick-up routine for after school will need an MFGS Gold Note.

All of the Gold Notes and Name Cards can be found in the office.

Shoes at school

Students must wear closed-toe shoes to school for PE and the playground.

Lunch

Meals will be available for $3.00 each day. There is a cost for additional milk or milk with a sack lunch of $.50.

Bus Transportation

If your child rides a bus, those bus assignments will be sent through text or email. Students will only be allowed to ride their assigned bus. If you have any questions please contact amy.flock@mfschools.net or eric.young@mfschools.net.

Grade Level Orientation Nights

Parents don't miss this important informational night. This night will give you an opportunity to formally meet your child's teacher, drop off supplies, receive valuable information, sign up for parent-teacher conferences, and sign up to volunteer. We ask that this night be for the student and guardians only.
