Season of Service
2014
What a great season!
This year's Season of Service came to a close this past weekend with thousands of volunteers participating in hundreds of different service projects all over the Sacramento region! We are sitting back in amazement at all God has done these past few months with simple acts of service and love!
We want to celebrate this amazing season with a Season of Service Celebration Event and we want you to join us!
The celebration will take place on June 8th at Genesis Church. Many churches and organizations who were involved in serving will come together on this pentecost evening to hear testimoneies of life changing service and offer prayers of thanksgiving. Worship will be led by Pastors Tecoy and Ellington Porter. You won't want to miss it!
Story of Service: Carmichael Family Resource Fair
On May 17th, five churches in the Carmichael community came together to put on a Family Resource Fair. This day was dedicated to providing resources and information in an array of areas including family counseling, health and dental hygiene, and education. There were also live bands, hot lunches, bounce houses, and a prayer tent. Finally, the churches donated and passed out over 350 grocery bags that contained a complete pasta dinner people could take home and prepare. Many people asked when the event was going to happen again! Families were blessed, friendships were made and God was glorified!
What was unique about this particular service event was the depth of involvement and relationship the churches built with one another in the process of planning for this event. Beginning in January, representatives from all five churches took time to visit each of the other churches to experience how each congregation worships. After the completion of this event, these representatives know each other well and are looking forward to serving together again for the glory of God and the transformation of Carmichael!
