Principal's Message
April 13, 2018
Dear Willink Families,
I hope you all had a wonderful spring break and enjoyed time with family and friends. While the weather was certainly anything but spring-like, we did have one day above 45!
This week, we honored our Titans CARE to Make a Difference Award Nominees. Eight students were nominated for modeling the March CARE-acter trait of loyalty. It was exciting to hear the positive influence these students have on their peers and how they were loyal to their values and friends this past month. April’s CARE-acter trait is fairness. We started talking about it this week on Titan TV and will be talking about it more next week. I have been reminding students that fair and equal are NOT the same thing. Please take the time to talk to your children about the concept of fairness.
Please make plans to stop by Community Arts Day, Saturday, April 8th, 10:00 am - 4:00 pm. Willink students will be performing between 11:00 am and 1:00 pm.
Parent Student Band 11:00
Only Men Aloud 11:30-12:00
Student-run play 12:00-12:15
Willink Ensembles; 12:15-1:00
Stop by and support our amazing performers!
The Willink Science Olympiad Team is off to the NYS championships in Syracuse this weekend. They have been working feverishly to prepare. Mrs. Montone has done another great job preparing the kids for this event and more importantly helping them further their love of science. Go Titans!!!
Next Thursday afternoon, students will participate in our 3rd quarter PBIS assembly: Family Feud. The PBIS team has worked incredibly hard putting this event together. It promises to be a great event! We will post pictures and video on our Twitter feed so you can follow along!
Today marks the end of the 3rd quarter. As a reminder, 3rd quarter report cards will not be printed unless you specifically request one. However, you can access your child’s report card via the student/parent portal after 4:00 pm on April 20th. We will send out a notification when report cards are ready. As always, you can check your child’s grade at any time via the student/parent portal. If you would prefer to have one mailed home, please call Kelly Bilow at 670-1034 or email kelly_bilow@webstercsd.org and she will make sure you get one.
As the fourth quarter begins, it is a great time to do some goal setting with your child and make sure they will finish strong! The student/parent portal is an excellent way to monitor their progress. As always, please email your child’s teacher with specific questions related to classroom performance. If you have behavioral or social-emotional concerns, your child’s counselor would be the first point of contact. Again, working together we can help your child grow!
Remember that there is no school for students K-8 on Friday.
Have a great weekend and hope the weather forecast is wrong!
Jim
