Message From the Principal
I want to apologize for sending your children home so wet today. I wasn’t paying close enough
attention to the weather when I made the decision to just close the field.
I talked to Mr. Anderson this afternoon and learned that they had called “stormy day recess” and I have now committed to having our office call Dieringer Heights on each day where the weather decision is questionable so our decisions are aligned. (Related: our health room clothing closet got cleaned out today. Could you please remember us with sweats, jeans and socks as you go through your closets!)
Reminders for this weekend:
Remember to “fall back” on Saturday night and change your clocks! I’m looking forward
to having some light to help me get out of bed in the morning!
Election Day is Tuesday, November 8. Please remember to vote!
Please invite every veteran you know to our assembly, which will be next Thursday,
November 10, at 1:30.
In honor of our veterans, there will be no school on Friday, November 11.
Sincerely,
Paula Bond

Levy Information
The November general election is just over a week away and Dieringer’s November Capital Levy is on the November 8th ballot. This ballot measure is important for the long-term sustainability of Dieringer's school buildings and our critical infrastructure systems. The funds from this levy would replace the HVAC systems in all three schools over the next four years and replace the roof at North Tapps Middle School. Additionally, this levy would fund safety and security upgrades along with improvements to outdoor learning spaces. Those improvements include a new track and a new turf field at North Tapps Middle School that both the district and community would benefit from.
This capital levy comes at a unique time for our community. The current tax rate per $1,000 of assessed value is approximately $4.05. Included in that amount is our current Educational Programs and Operations Levy, our Technology Levy, and bonds that have paid for previous school construction projects. One bond comes off the books at the end of the year and the November Capital Levy would replace that bond. While the levy is a new tax, we have a chance to make needed repairs and upgrades without raising taxes and maintain historically low tax rates for our community. In fact, when compared to our neighboring school districts, Dieringer’s tax rate is one of the lowest in our area.
If you missed our Community Information Night about the upcoming levy this past Tuesday you can watch the recording on our YouTube channel. You can also visit https://www.dieringer.wednet.edu/our-district/vote to learn more.

Vaccine Clinic Monday, Nov 14, at NTMS for Students and Families; 2:30-6:15 pm
We are partnering with Walgreens Pharmacy to offer flu shots and the Moderna Covid bivalent booster (as well as Tdap vaccine for 7th graders, required for school attendance). Registration is required for an appointment, linked here. A separate registration time is required for each person in a family. Minors 17 years old and younger must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
Information:
Walgreens can bill for most major insurance plans, except for Molina and Amerigroup. Please bring your insurance card and wear short sleeves.
Please complete the consent for vaccination here and bring it to your appointment.
We will need to give Walgreens staff your student’s name and date of birth if you would like them to get a Tdap vaccine. Walgreens needs to verify insurance payment ahead of time for this vaccine only. We will notify you if they tell us it is not covered by insurance.
Walgreens is able to administer flu shots to anyone age 3 and older (all flu vaccine is preservative free), Moderna Covid bivalent boosters to anyone age 6 and older, and Tdap to students age 11 and older.
Please bring your Covid vaccination card if you would like a Moderna Covid booster, and your student’s vaccination record for the Tdap vaccine.
November is Diabetes Awareness Month! Did you know that about 244,000 children and adolescents in the United States are living with Type 1 diabetes? Children are often very ill by the time they are diagnosed. Listed below are symptoms that may indicate Type 1 diabetes. Please contact your child’s primary care provider if you have concerns.
