Principal's Message

Dear Evergreen Elementary Families,

I hope everyone is enjoying the summer break! Our new media center, which will consist of our library and computer lab, is currently under construction and moving along smoothly. I'd like to welcome and introduce new faces in the office, Kristy Corbett who will be our new Assistant Principal, and Rebecca Aliotti our new Office Manager. The front office is returning from our break and working towards getting the office open. I will send out an edition of the Evergreen Express each month. We will post the newsletter to our website, Facebook page, and Facebook group. There is also a link to join the private Facebook page below.

Summer homework: familiarize yourself with the district calendar and important dates listed in the newsletter.

The first day of school is Tuesday, August 16th, 2022. I hope everyone enjoys the last few weeks of summer. We are excited to start the new school year!

Sincerely,

Maya Nava,

Principal

Paid Ways to Help at Evergreen

Yard Duty:

We are in need of help at lunchtime. We have a large campus and over 550 students. The more adult support we have at lunchtime the better equipped we are to support students with play/social skills and conflict resolution.

Days and Times: M, W, Th, F 11:30-1:30.

Pay: 15$ per hour

To apply, please call 707-588-5715 or email maya_russellnava@crpusd.org and let us know your availability. Initial training will occur the week before school starts with ongoing opportunities for training as the year progresses.

Crossing Guards:

We are in need of crossing guards to help with the three crosswalks near campus. Hours are 8:00-8:20 and 2:55-3:15. Crossing guards are crucial to the safety of our students walking and rolling to school. To apply, please call 707-588-5715 or email maya_russellnava@crpusd.org

Paraprofessionals:

We have a couple of open positions working in our special day classes or in general ed classes with some amazing students and staff. Apply here

If you have any questions about these positions please email maya_russellnava@crpusd.org or call 707-588-5715.

Evergreen Expectations

At Evergreen, we use restorative practices and positive behavior supports in schools to support students in following the school rules and expectations. We have three Evergreen Expectations that we review each day: Make Good Decisions, Show Respect to Others and Yourself, and Solve Problems. We teach these expectations and the positive behaviors that demonstrate these expectations heavily at the beginning of the school year and throughout. Students receive expectation tickets and specific positive praise for demonstrating the expectations in each area of the school. Below is an example of the general behavior matrix and the solution wheel we use for general conflict resolution on the playground. I will send out more information about restorative practices and PBIS in our Evergreen Handbook and in the monthly newsletters to come.
