Volunteer Opportunities
Spanish-speaking volunteers needed for legal casework
Asian Law Alliance is a non-profit legal services organization that is based in Santa Clara County, they are looking for Spanish-speaking volunteers to assist clients with different services. They have flexible hours and can work with your schedule
- Spanish-speaking volunteers are especially needed to help represent clients in asylum, removal defense, and other complex immigration cases.
- Volunteers will help screen clients during consultations, provide translations for interviews and case work, and assist some clients in filling out legal forms.

The Latina Leadership Network of the California Community Colleges (LLN) will be awarding two scholarships per Region Area (North, Central and South for a total of six (6) student scholarships of $500 to Latina students currently attending a California Community College.
APPLICATION DEADLINE IS FRIDAY, February 1, 2019.
California Strawberry Scholarship
The California Strawberry Scholarship Program has awarded more than $2.6 million to hundreds of children of strawberry farmworkers. Awards range from $400 to $5000-based on merit, and can be renewed annually.
Scholarship awards provide assistance with tuition, room and board, textbooks, and other educational expenses associated with college enrollment.
Parents must be currently employed in the California strawberry harvest, plus the last two consecutive seasons as a field worker.

The Dream.US Scholarship
Community College Graduates:
If you have or will graduate from a community college by the end of the Summer of 2019 and do not have the financial resources to complete your bachelor’s degree at a 4-year university, this Scholarship may be for you!
Please Note: You are not eligible to apply for Community College Graduate Scholarship if you have been or are enrolled in a four-year institution or a four-year bachelor’s degree program.
You are eligible to apply if you:
1. Have graduated or will graduate from an accredited community college or two-year degree program by the end of the 2018-19 academic year;
2. Graduated or will graduate with a community college GPA of 3.0 or better on a scale of 4.0;
3. Are not and have not previously enrolled in a four-year institution or a four-year bachelor’s degree program;
4. Intend to enroll full time in a bachelor’s degree program at a Partner College no later than the Spring term of 2019-20 academic year;
5. Are eligible for in-state tuition at the Partner College you want to attend (not applicable if it is a private Partner College);
6. Have current DACA or TPS or certify that you meet the DACA immigration eligibility criteria set forth below;
7. Arrived in the United States before reaching your 16th birthday; and
8. Have significant unmet financial need.
