He was the second son of Henry VII and Elizabeth of York
King Henry VIII became king when his older brother King Arthur died in 1502
achievements
King Henry lead the English Reformation along the course he had set for it. He established the English, Angligan, Church, which remains the most powerful church in England today.
Marriage
King Henry had married Queen Ctherine of Aragon in 1509 at the Franciscan Church at Greenwich.
Their marriage had dissolved in 1533.
Childhood
When King Henry VIII was a young man he was vey athletic and intelligent. A comtemporary observer descrided him thus: he speaks good French, Latin and Spanish; is very religous; heard three masses daily when hunted.... He is extremely fond of hunting, and never takes that diversion without tiring eight or ten horses.... He is also fond of tennis
King Henry VIII
King Henry was famous for his brutal treatment toward his whole family members, including his wife and children. For example, Loyal Catherine of Aragon had been divorced by force, and Henry decided to execute Ann Boleyn and Catherine of Aragon for the sake of having a boy that couldn't inherit his throne.
