Weekly Happenings

Week of 9/23/19

A Message from the Administrator

Greetings MCS Families,

On Friday we held our ASB elections for Moscow Charter School. Students in 5th through 8th were able to run. The whole school then had the opportunity to vote based on the speeches. In my 7 years at MCS, I have never seen more heartfelt and impressive speeches by our students. I would like to congratulate all for the courage to run and our winners of Graeme for President, Nelly for Vice President, Ellie for Treasurer/Community Rep, and Nicholas as Secretary.

On Friday we will be having individual student pictures in the morning. You should have received a flyer about picture options last week. Full order forms will be going home with students tomorrow. This year we will be using Leo’s Photography who have come highly recommended from other schools in the area. We hope this transition will make this years school photo and yearbook process much better than last.

As our seasons are starting to change, please make sure students are dressed in the appropriate clothing for the day. If it is a slight rain students will still be outside for recess. It is looking to possibly drop into the 40’s and 50’s by the end of the week.

I hope you all have had a great start to the week and it continues throughout!!!

Tony Bonuccelli

Administrator, Moscow Charter School

Picture Day this Friday, the 27th!

We will be sending home order forms with students tomorrow!

International Walk to School Day

Just a reminder that Wednesday, October 2nd, is International Walk to School Day! We have had wonderful participation in previous years and we highly encourage students to walk or ride their bikes to school.

MCS Fun Run

On Wednesday, October 2nd, 2019 we will have our annual Fitness Fun Run. The students will have 45 minutes to complete as many laps as possible around the course set up. Afterward, there will be a few activities and a snack. The funds collected will go to the Moscow Charter School Parent Action Team to help support our school. If $2019 is collected by Wednesday, October 7th, Mr. B will make a performance dressed as "Captain Underpants" (voted by the students).

Students are encouraged to collect pledges and to dress up on the day of the Fun Run. The grade who raises the most funds will win a pizza party and a class trophy. The students with the most laps in each grade will receive a plaque and personalized MCS wood backpack tag. The students with the craziest dress-up will receive a prize too, so let the creativity run wild (no masks or hats, please!). Pledges need to be turned in along with the pledge sheet by Wednesday, October 9th to allow for accurate accounting of fundraising awards.

If you would like to help out on the day of the Fun Run or help plan activities for the students, please signup at https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0d48a9ab2baaf58-funrun
