Symbolism (By Caleb)
In the “Scarlet Ibis” by James Hurst there is a lot of symbolism. Doodle greatly symbolises the Ibis in the story in an extensive number of ways. One is that Doodle died of exhaustion just like the Ibis did in the story and was very far away from its home just like Doodle. Doodle was covered in “A brilliant red” just like the scarlet ibis was. Doodle died in a tall bush and the scarlet died near a tree. They were both very sick, and their legs were bent at the knee and either one of their mouths were unhinged at their death. Symbolism is defined as an interesting relationship between two things. Like how one object may represent another.
Imagery (By Olivia)
Definition: Visually descriptive or figurative language
Explanation: This quote demonstrates imagery through its description of a dying garden, giving the reader a vivd image of the scene.
Tone (By Micah)
In the short story “The Scarlet Ibis” by James Hurst, the author sets the tone of the story in multiple ways. One way that the author may set the tone is when he says in the last paragraph of the story, “I began to weep, and the tear-blurred vision in red before me looked very familiar . “Doodle!” I screamed above the pounding storm and threw my body to the earth above his”. This shows tone by showing how the author feels towards Doodle’s death. He is very emotional about the loss of Doodle and regrets the fact that he did that to him. The tone is also very deep, as if now or later we will all feel the same thing and experience what his brother is experiencing now and it hurts badly. The meaning “Tone” means how the author uses a set of conveyed words or a his viewpoint on a particular subject.

Tech Expert Analysis (By Austin)
Pros: It was very easy to make your own custom layout, and put in custom pictures on the articles. I really liked how the fitted place to put pictures adjusted based on the size of the picture.
Cons: You can't add a custom background picture without upgrading your account, and it seems like its more targeted to making flyers than anything else.
I enjoyed using this program because it was very easy to work, and I will probably use it again in the future.
