(If you are having difficulty opening links on this E-blast, please click on the message, “Is this email not displaying correctly? View it in your browser,” which is located at the top of this Eblast.)
Dear Parents, Guardians and Community Members,
The classroom teachers and I are extremely proud of our students' preparation and performance during our first round of student-led conferences. This sentiment was echoed by many of you with whom I was able to speak during conference nights. To help us strengthen the value and effectiveness of these conferences, please feel free to email or call me to share your reflections on your conference experience.
6th Grade transition to Wamogo
This Monday, members of the middle school team will be coming to talk to the sixth grade students about their transition to the middle school and their choices for seventh grade. During this visit students will be selecting their electives for 7th grade - including a language if they choose to take one. There will no longer be a language rotation so students will be choosing a language for the year. Mrs. Butler, the head of the language department, will speak about the language options. We ask that parents have a discussion with their child(ren) about taking a language.
There will be a parent night at Wamogo on May 25th where the middle school team can answer questions and address concerns about 7th grade. More details about this event to follow.
JMS Art Show at Morris Senior Center
JMS students are creating Mexican-themed artwork for exhibit Mexicana Arte Primaveral, a student art show that will be held at the Morris Senior Center for the month of April. Kindergarten students have been painting and decorating sombreros. Second grade students are painting decorative Dala horses. Sixth grade students are generating Mexican Bark Paintings. Other works include self-portraits in the style of Mexican artist, Frida Kahlo, Tin Art, and Alibrejes Drawings.
How can you help?
